Everton have reportedly made a move for Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are extremely positive about the speculation.
The Telegraph claims that Carlo Ancelotti’s side have started the bidding with an £18million offer for the enforcer, with an exit from the Saints likely after he made it clear he wants to leave.
It is understood that the Denmark international was initially valued at £35million, with Premier League side Tottenham another that want to sign him.
It is understood that Spurs have been seen as favourite to sign Hojbjerg, with an offer of defender Kyle Walker-Peter plus cash for his signature.
Hojbjerg has played 133 first-team games for Southampton and has a wealth of top-flight experience under his belt, which has meant there is interest from top-flight club.
Ancelotti’s side have looked in the centre of the park in recent games and they are on a disappointing run of four games without a win, as their season draws to an underwhelming close.

A selection of Everton supporters on social media believe that the Southampton’s touch-tackler is exactly the kind of transfer target that could make a difference next season and they want to beat Spurs to his signature.
