Everton fans react to potential reported Mark Hughes interest

Everton could reportedly consider Mark Hughes as their next manager if they get rid of Marco Silva – and some of the club’s supporters are fuming with the speculation.

According to the Daily Mail, current Toffees boss Silva is under scrutiny and needs a victory away to Southampton on Saturday.

It is understood that Hughes and former Everton manager David Moyes would be considered on a shortlist if they need to find a successor.

Hughes is an available manager that has been out of work since departing Southampton in 2018.

He’s also been in charge at Stoke City, QPR, Fulham, Manchester City, Blackburn Rovers and the Wales national team.

The 56-year-old can set up organised teams and has had relative success, but has never won silverware as a manager and isn’t a popular option with Everton fans.

A selection of Everton supporters have made it crystal clear that they don’t want Hughes on Merseyside.

Silva is still for now in charge with the Toffees, but is surely under immense pressure for a run of victories as the club currently sit just above the relegation places.

They have failed to live up to the expectation so far of challenging the top six and instead are looking over their shoulders.
