Everton fans react to performance of Abdoulaye Doucoure during FA Cup win

Everton secured a safe passage to round five of the FA Cup with a 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday at Goodison Park.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison and Yerry Mina ensured the Toffees avoided a potential banana skin.

It was the form of Abdoulaye Doucoure which caught the eye though, with plenty of supporters raving about his performance.

The one sour note of the night came when he was cautioned, meaning he now misses this week’s game against Leicester City.

He was, however, in fine form and looks like a very good piece of summer business by Carlo Ancelotti.

Doucoure signed from Watford for £20 million during the summer and on current form, he looks like a real steal.

The 28-year-old has started every game this season and has helped Everton to some decent performances.

Last night, albeit against lesser opposition, he starred alongside Andre Gomes in the middle of the park.

Doucoure made 141 appearances for Watford prior to his departure and he’s showcasing why Everton were keen to sign him.
