A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to react to Morgan Schneiderlin’s comments to BBC Sport where he suggested that he may have been too hasty in his decision to leave Manchester United.

Schneiderlin spent around 18 months at Old Trafford. However, he was largely unable to recapture the form that attracted United’s attention while he was at Southampton.

He left for Goodison Park during the 2017 January transfer window. And he admitted that he wonders whether he was too quick to look for a way out once he fell out of favour.

“I wanted to do more and I had the capacity to do more,” he told BBC Sport.

“Maybe I jumped out of the boat too quickly when I didn’t play for three months. When I look at other players having a great career at Manchester United, they all had a spell of four or five months when they didn’t play.”

BBC Sport notes that Schneiderlin insisted that he has no regrets about joining the Toffees. Nevertheless, it appears that his comments have upset some supporters on social media.

Schneiderlin has never quite managed to win the full support of the Goodison Park faithful. And these latest comments do not appear to have helped his cause.

Some Everton fans have actually defended Schneiderlin. They have insisted that he has not said anything wrong, and he is right to suggest that he could have indeed got back in Manchester United’s team had he stuck around.

However, some believe that it is disrespectful from the 29-year-old. And it is clear that several fans would not mind if Marco Silva allowed the midfielder to leave Merseyside at the next opportunity.

Here is what some of the supporters made of Schneiderlin’s comments…
