Michael Keane has been axed from the England squad for the upcoming international break – and some of the Everton fans on Twitter agree with the decision made on their defender.
Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate has named his squad for upcoming European Championship qualifiers against Montenegro and Kosovo.
Keane has been a regular in the senior England squad during the last year, but his poor form this season has seen him lose his spot for now.
The 26-year-old struggled in a 2-1 defeat to Czech Republic during the international break, while his domestic form with Everton has been poor.
He’s been an ever-present in a Toffees defence that has leaked goals and they currently sit an underwhelming 17th in the Premier League table.
The centre-back was dropped to the bench though last weekend for the 1-1 draw against Tottenham, with Yerry Mina and Mason Holgate looking solid in the heart of defence.
Keane needs to focus on regaining his Everton spot before he even thinks about his England future and is going through a tough period.
A selection of Everton supporters on social media don’t believe Keane’s form warrants a spot in the England squad and are glad to see him drop out.
It seems like the defender has a lot of work to do at Goodison Park to get back in the good books under Toffees manager Marco Silva, as well as the supporters.
Here are some Everton fans on Keane’s international omission:
It’s not rocket science, he’s been dropped by MS so why should be picked for England?

He’s been binned because he has been so bad this season… third choice now behind Mina and holgate

In other words, he turns like an articulated lorry and has the reaction speed of an out of date cabbage so I dropped him
