Everton put in an impressive display yesterday to claim a 3-1 win against Brighton at Goodison Park. It was one of the side’s best displays under the guidance of manager Marco Silva and in the end, they deserved to win by a comfortable margin.
There were some impressive displays throughout the game. Richarlison was excellent up front. He scored two very well taken goals to put Brighton to bed. Andre Gomes is swiftly becoming a cult hero at Goodison whilst Michael Keane’s resurgence continues.
But one man who stepped up in this fixture was Idrissa Gana Gueye.
Not without his critics among the Everton faithful, this was what he can do on his day.

Gueye covered every single blade of grass in an exceptional display in the heart of the Everton midfield. His desire to do the dirty work allows Gomes the freedom to play the ball forward and the pair have a very good relationship developing.
The Senegal star even came close to goal with a rasping drive in the first-half.
It was a dynamic and often tireless display from the 29-year-old, who can be a key player for the Toffees this season if he keeps up this sort of form.
