Everton went down with a fight against the Premier League champions this evening, but will still be disappointed to have lost 3-1 against Manchester City.
Seamus Coleman had pulled the Toffees level after Gabriel Jesus’ opener and Everton were even pressing for the win at one point.
However, Riyad Mahrez’s free-kick was followed up by Raheem Sterling’s effort off the crossbar and Everton eventually lost 3-1.
There was plenty for the Everton boss, Marco Silva, to be happy with from the performance. However, the fans were again disappointed with several players on show.
Jordan Pickford should have done better for Mahrez’s goal, Yerry Mina remains inconsistent and Everton again lacked a cutting edge in attack.

But despite perhaps one of his better performances of the season, plenty of Everton fans were unimpressed with Gylfi Sigurdsson’s display.
The Icelandic international is clearly not at his best this season and he did start to struggle before the end of the game.
The fact is, it has been a poor season for the playmaker so far and after an indifferent term in 2018-19 plenty of Everton fans are simply losing patience with the 30-year-old.
Hopefully, he can rekindle some form in the weeks to come. If not, then Everton boss Silva will have to make a decision on his struggling playmaker.
