Everton defeated Wolves 3-2 at Goodison Park in a pulsating Premier League clash yesterday. The Toffees had Richarlison’s brace and Alex Iwobi’s header to thank for the result in which several players put in their best performances of the season so far.

Richarlison looked back to his terrifying self, Andre Gomes was helped by the presence of an impressive Fabian Delph whilst Iwobi added an extra dimension for Marco Silva’s side.

But perhaps the most improved performance of the day came from Gyfli Sigurdsson.

The Icelandic international has struggled with form this season and fans at Goodison Park have been voicing their displeasure at his near anonymous displays. The performances were even more frustrating considering his good form toward the end of last season.

But Sigurdsson was back to his near-best against Wolves and was a constant thorn in the side of the visitors.

He also bagged a sensational assist with a delightful half-volley cross into Iwobi for his first Everton goal.

It was a performance that Everton fans have been longing to see and will hopefully be the start of a good run of form from the mercurial playmaker.
