Everton fans react to Fabian Delph withdrawal from England squad

Fabian Delph has had to exit the England squad during the current international break through injury – and some Everton fans have reacted to the news on Twitter.

The Toffees have confirmed (official website) that the 29-year-old has left Garth Southgate’s England squad and returned to Goodison Park for further rehabilitation on an injury.

He will miss European Championship qualifiers against Montenegro and Kosovo, but there has been no replacement called up to the Three Lions squad.

Delph was absent from Everton’s squad at the weekend during the 2-1 away victory against Southampton, as a hamstring problem kept him sidelined.

The central midfielder has been unable to prove his fitness for England and fans should hope he’s back fit after the international break.

A selection of Everton supporters on social media have reacted to Delph’s England exit and are not surprised.

The left-footed enforcer has had some tough luck with injuries in recent years, but he’s turned out to be a good summer signing for the Merseyside club when available to play.
