Everton manager Marco Silva has confirmed that midfielder Fabian Delph is now available to make his competitive debut for the club – and some fans on Twitter are delighted with the news.
The Toffees boss has confirmed (Liverpool Echo) that the 29-year-old is available to play in mid-week.
Delph is yet to feature in a match day squad since he joined the Merseyside club in the summer, but is a possible option on Wednesday night away to Lincoln City in the second round of the Carabao Cup.
The central midfielder has been sidelined since he picked up a groin injury against Werder Bremen in pre-season.
With Everton midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin recently picking up an injury, it’s a significant boost to have Delph link up with the squad at Goodison Park.
A selection of Everton supporters on social media are thrilled that Delph is back in the fold following his injury problem.
He completed a £9million (Sky Sports) switch to the Merseyside club in the summer from Manchester City and arrives with a great deal of experience.
It looks like he is going to be needed in the heart of the midfield and will hope to get back up to full speed rapidly, with the cup fixture a great chance to help do that.
Here are some Everton fans commenting on Delph:
Well, at least Delph’s fit! Seemed a tad more positive about Gbamin though, despite what was posted earlier.

Hopefully now fit, Fabian Delph can have a sustained run in the team. We’ll need him.

Easy decision really isn’t it.

If Delph is fit then he must be used in the game tomorrow. Lincoln could prove to be a difficult challenge, especially if Everton fail to create enough chances and and cannot score in the first half. They play with skill and pace and our whole squad will need to be on top form.
