Djibril Sidibe impressed as Everton beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 in the EFL Cup. Sidibe provided an assist and contributed towards a clean sheet to stake his claim for a Premier League start.
The France international, who joined from Monaco in the summer, is pushing Seamus Coleman all the way. Marco Silva has preferred the 30-year-old Irishman so far but this could change in the future.

The 27-year-old floated a perfect cross into the path of Dominic Calvert-Lewin to fire in via the underside of the bar and make it 1-0. Calvert-Lewin grabbed his second, finishing off a move inspired by Alex Iwobi.
Everton fans flocked to social media to share how impressed they were with Sidibe’s display. It was just his second appearance for the Toffees – his first coming against Lincoln City in the last round.
Here are some tweets from Everton fans discussing the Sidibe-Coleman selection dilemma.
