Everton fans have waxed lyrical about Anthony Gordon following his impressive display against Chelsea on Thursday night.
The 20-year-old helped Rafa Benitez’s Toffees record a superb 1-1 draw away at the Premier League title challengers.
Everton fell behind in the 69th minute as Reece James set up Mason Mount to slot home at the near post.

However, Gordon provided the assist for the Goodison Park outfit to equalise and claim a hard-fought point.
The Everton academy graduate swung a brilliant cross in at the back post for Jarrad Branthwaite to divert into the net.
Gordon delivered several superb deliveries for his teammates throughout the game and also had a shot on target.
In addition, he contributed defensively, making three clearances, two tackles and an interception.
Here is what some Everton fans made of the youngster’s masterclass at Stamford Bridge:
Anthony Gordon by the way, absolutely phenomenal. #EFC

Fantastic performance from the young lads tonight! Branthwaite and Gordon especially have both put a huge case in to be even more involved, Gordon needs to start every game and Branthwaite needs to be considered a lot more. A huge point against Chelsea! #CHEEVE #EFC 💙💙

For as long as DCL is injured, Rondon should never start ahead of Simms and Dobbin ever again.

Branthwaite needs to start more, especially while Mina’s out and Gordon should 100% be ahead of Iwobi every game when Gray comes back. The young lads were full value tonight #EFC
Brilliant spirited performance that. Thought Gordon was excellent. Benitez got it right tonight! #UTFT

Gordon is one of the brightest talents to come through the Everton academy in recent years.
He has made 34 appearances for the Toffees including 14 in the Premier League this season.
Although Gordon has been a squad rotation player this term, the display against Chelsea will no doubt give Benitez food for thought.
