Everton fans react on Twitter to Tom Davies’ display

A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Tom Davies’s display as the midfielder produced a masterclass in the Toffees’ FA Cup win over Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday.

You would surely have to go back a long way to find a more exciting tie between two Premier League sides. Carlo Ancelotti’s men went through after extra-time, with Everton edging a nine-goal thriller.

It was a game which perhaps saw neither side’s defence shine. But there were still a number of outstanding performances on show. And there is no question that Davies produced one of the most impressive displays.

The 22-year-old seemed to be everywhere throughout the game. As shown by Whoscored.com, he completed a greater number of successful passes than any other Everton player.

Meanwhile, no player on either side won more aerial duels than the four Davies won. He also went on four successful dribbles, made three clearances and two interceptions.

Davies – who earns £25,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – has come in for a lot of criticism in the last couple of years. But it appears that he is now silencing his doubters.

Several fans believe that something is really clicking for the youngster alongside Abdoulaye Doucoure in the middle of the park.

Some felt that Wednesday saw the best performance of his career to date. And given that his form has gradually improved lately, many are incredibly excited about what may be to come from Davies.
