Everton fans react on Twitter to Michael Keane’s display

A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Michael Keane’s performance as the Toffees drew 1-1 with Leicester on Wednesday.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side came under plenty of pressure at Goodison Park. They had initially taken the lead through James Rodriguez thanks a sublime effort on the half hour mark.

But the Foxes were on top for large parts of the game. They did get their goal midway through the second-half. And Jordan Pickford will certainly be disappointed that he did not keep Youri Tielemans’s effort out.

The goal will have come as a blow to Keane and Yerry Mina. The pair defended superbly for much of the game, looking colossal at times.

Plenty of Everton supporters have taken to social media to laud Keane – who earns £65,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – in particular. Some insisted that he continues to go from strength to strength for the Toffees.

As shown by Whoscored.com, he won two aerial duels and made three clearances. He is enjoying an outstanding season and is proving absolutely integral to Ancelotti’s side.

It is remarkable to recall the struggles Keane has previously had on Merseyside because right now, he is arguably looking like one of the most impressive defenders in the Premier League.
