Everton fans react on Twitter to links with Aston Villa’s Tyrone Mings

Everton are reportedly interested in signing Aston Villa star Tyrone Mings this summer, according to the Sunday Mirror (12/7; page 69).

The Toffees are gearing up for their first summer window under Carlo Ancelotti. And it would perhaps be little surprise if the defence was strengthened in the coming months, particularly after Sunday’s 3-0 defeat to Wolves.

One of the players that Ancelotti reportedly wants is Mings. The Sunday Mirror (12/7; page 69) has claimed that Everton are battling Manchester United for the signature of the centre-back.

The report notes that the Villans are likely to value the 27-year-old at £30 million – although it will be interesting to see how that valuation changes depending on hoe the rest of Villa’s season plays out.

Many Everton fans however, appear to be hoping that there is little in the reports linking Mings with a move to Goodison Park.

Mings was outstanding after joining Villa on loan last season. However, he has not been as impressive in the Premier League.

And while there appears to be a handful of Everton fans believing that he could be a decent addition – and pointing out the success they previously had when signing a player from a poor Villa side – the majority are not in favour at all.
