A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Joao Virginia’s display as the goalkeeper made his Premier League debut on Saturday.
It proved to be another frustrating evening for Carlo Ancelotti’s men. They were beaten 2-1 by Burnley at Goodison Park.

No top-half side has taken fewer points from their home games this season. In fact, only the bottom three have lost more times at their own ground this term.
To rub salt into the wounds, Everton lost Jordan Pickford to injury just before half-time. But that did present Virginia with the chance to make his top flight bow for the Toffees.

And he proved to be a shining light for the home side. He made a couple of impressive saves to keep Everton in with a chance of finding an equaliser.
As shown by Whoscored, he made three stops during his time on the pitch. That was the same number as Nick Pope at the other end of the ground.
‘Good performance’
And plenty of Everton fans have insisted that the 21-year-old can hold his head up high. Several have suggested that he did well given his lack of game-time and the fact that he would not have expected to be involved.
