Everton fans react on Twitter to Jean-Philippe Gbamin update

A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news that the club confirmed on their official website that Jean-Philippe Gbamin will miss the next three months.

Gbamin has endured a difficult spell since arriving at Goodison Park. He only made two appearances for the Toffees before sustaining a serious injury in training.

BBC Sport reported at the time that he was set to be out for around eight weeks. Unfortunately, it turns out that the midfielder has suffered a significant setback.

The club have confirmed on their official website that the 24-year-old has undergone surgery on a tendon injury in his right quadricep. He is now set to be sidelined for three months.

Unsurprisingly, the news has disappointed a number of Everton fans on Twitter. Unfortunately, the start of the season has not gone to plan for Marco Silva’s men. They went into the international break inside the relegation zone and have lost their last four league games.

Gbamin had not much of a chance to prove how influential he could be. But it still feels like a massive blow for the Toffees supporters. He is seemingly set to be out until mid-January, and some believe that his campaign can almost be written off at this stage.

Gbamin was signed as a replacement for Idrissa Gueye. But one fan’s suggestion that he has replaced James McCarthy rather than Gueye seems to sum up how a lot of supporters feel after this latest announcement.

Here is how some of the fans reacted to the news…
