A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Daily Mail at the weekend suggesting that Newcastle United are ready to make a bid for Tom Davies.

Davies made 30 Premier League appearances for the Toffees this past season. Unfortunately, he was not able to make a major impact for Carlo Ancelotti’s men.

The Daily Mail has suggested that Everton are willing to offload a number of their players this summer. However, it is suggested that Davies is not one of those Ancelotti would be keen to move on.

Nevertheless, the Mail claims that Newcastle boss Steve Bruce wants his board to make a £12 million bid for the 22-year-old.

It appears that a move would be unlikely for that fee. But the Mail does suggest that there may be scope for a deal further down the line with Everton valuing Davies at a higher price.

Interestingly, it does not appear that the Toffees’ stance matches with how some of the supporters on social media feel about the reports.

There are some who want to see Davies stay. They believe that it could be a big mistake to let him go, particularly for £12 million.

However, the majority appear to feel that Everton should cash-in if Newcastle make an eight-figure bid.

They have their doubts about Davies’s future at Goodison Park. And some clearly think that Everton may rue missing out should they turn Newcastle down this summer.

Here is how some of the Everton fans reacted to the reports…
