It would appear that few Everton fans are worried about the prospect of Seamus Coleman leaving Goodison Park this summer amid reports suggesting that West Ham United are keen.
The Sunday People (27/9; page 57) claimed that the Hammers are keen to sign the Republic of Ireland international.
The report did claim that Carlo Ancelotti wants to strengthen his own options at right-back. Nevertheless, it would be a huge surprise if Coleman ended up leaving the club before the window shuts.
The 31-year-old – who earns £70,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – has been outstanding in the early stages of the new campaign. The Toffees captain has started all three of their Premier League games thus far, and has been hugely impressive.
And that may help explain why some Everton fans on social media are not buying for one second the idea that he may be allowed to join former boss David Moyes at the London Stadium.
Despite their stunning win on Sunday, the Irons do indeed need to strengthen their ranks before the window shuts. They are yet to bring in a new face during this window.
Unfortunately for Moyes, it seems that he is fighting a losing battle if he hopes to sign Coleman. The fans are certainly not anticipating an imminent departure.
Here is how some of the Everton fans have reacted to the reports…
