Theo Walcott saw his career go full circle yesterday when he completed his move from Everton to Southampton on a season-long loan deal.

The 31-year-old has featured twice for Everton this term but wasn’t in the squad for two of the Toffees’ four Premier League games.

Everton signed the forward in 2018 from Arsenal for £20 million but in truth, it’s proved a move that hasn’t really worked.

In 85 appearances for the Merseyside-based club, he netted 11 goals and registered nine assists in the famous blue jersey.

Walcott began his career at the Saints as a prodigal teenager. He burst on the scene and netted five goals in 22 appearances with Southampton then a Football League club.

Now Ralph Hasenhuttl has got the club on the up and as an established Premier League club they have chosen to bring Walcott back home.

Despite not really hitting dizzy heights at Everton there have been plenty of supporters queuing up to wish him well ahead of his new chapter.

The Toffees have won all of their opening four Premier League matches and supporters are on cloud nine.

Following Walcott’s departure, we looked at a selection of Tweets from Everton supporters on Walcott.
