Everton fans react as their under 23 side scoops Premier League 2 crown

Everton clinched the Premier League 2 title last night with a 1-0 win over Brighton at Goodison Park, earned by a goal from Josh Bowler.

The wait for senior silverware goes on but the future looks bright for the Toffees, as David Unsworth underlined the strength that lies in their youth ranks.

And that’s alongside the bevy of young players in and around the first team picture, the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Tom Davies and Ademola Lookman, among others.

The Toffees have spent big in recent transfer windows in pursuit of that ‘next level’ they were constantly striving to make when David Moyes had them right on the cusp despite consistently having a shoestring budget.

But perhaps using even more of this young talent is the way to go; it helps the club save money to really go big for two or three top players and creates more of a connection between the fans and squad, something which is so important for a club like Everton.
