Everton are hoping to complete the signing of Real Madrid star James Rodriguez, according to Sky Sports.

The Colombia international has played under Carlo Ancelotti twice before at Madrid and at Bayern Munich.

Everton are hoping to hand Rodriguez a three-year deal with the international only having a year to run on his existing contract.

Rodriguez has enjoyed a trophy-laden six years at the Santiago Bernabeu but recently he has fallen out of favour with Zinedine Zidane.

The playmaker has won the Champions League twice and the La Liga title on two occasions during his time in the Spanish capital.

During 2019/20, Rodriguez played just 14 times under Zidane and was largely out of favour under the Frenchman.

The Express claim that the forward earns £280,000-a-week and it’ll be interesting to see what sort of deal the Toffees can offer him.

Following the latest rumours, Everton supporters have been taking to Twitter to discuss whether or not this would be a good deal.

Plenty are hopeful he can raise the roof at Goodison Park and in large the comments are positive.

Rodriguez has had problems with injuries, however, and with that in mind, some are somewhat unsure over the deal.

Here is a selection of Tweets from supporters regarding Rodriguez reportedly heading to Everton.
