Everton teenager Thierry Small is reportedly refusing to sign a new contract at Goodison Park this summer as he has not been impressed with his lack of first-team exposure – and Toffees fans have reacted to the reports.
Small, 16, has broken through Everton’s academy and even made his first-team debut this season – coming on as a substitute against Sheffield Wednesday during a 3-0 FA Cup win. But that is not enough for Small.
Indeed, the Express claim that Small is refusing to sign a new deal – with a three-year contract offer on the table – as he wants more assurances and a better pathway into the senior side. He does not see one at Everton right now.

Lucas Digne remains first choice, while Ben Godfrey is likely to be used at left-back ahead of Niels Nkoulou. Then there is Small – who has now clocked up nine appearances in the club’s Under-23 side, scoring three goals.
The report claims plenty of clubs are interested in signing Small including big-hitters Manchester United, Arsenal and Bayern. The heavyweights will fail to offer him a first-team path, but the lure of the clubs will tempt him.
Whereas, Leeds, Brighton and Brentford are also interested and all three clubs can offer better first-team prospects – for a player who would cost just £1million. Everton fans have reacted on Twitter to the reports.
