Everton fans have been reacting to a report that has claimed the club are strongly pushing to re-sign defender Kurt Zouma.
French publication Le10 Sport have claimed the Toffees are keen on bringing the Frenchman back to Goodison Park after a successful loan spell with the club in 2018/19.
The Blues are said to be listening to offers for the centre-half, who is also being looked at by Leicester City according to the report.
The publication claim it could take an offer of €40 million/£36 million from Everton to prise him away from Stamford Bridge permanently, which is certainly a hefty price tag.
Zouma’s future is currently up in the air after Frank Lampard mysteriously left him out of the squad to face West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
Last term for the Blues, he made 43 appearances in all competitions and was arguably the best of a bad bunch.
Zouma was arguably more impressive during his loan with Everton than he was last term for Chelsea.
Many supporters were gutted the club couldn’t turn his move permanent in the 2019 summer market, but there could be a chance of that happening now.
That said, £36 million is very steep if that is indeed the price it would take to sign him.
While some fans are keen to see Zouma’s return, others have reservations about the potential money involved:
Another bizarre rumour. Probably Chelsea’s better CB so I doubt they will sell and also doubt we will spend 40M

Love Zuma, but he’s never a 40m player in any market.

Think il swerve that one ,I like zouma but not for that price, wen holgate is fit he wouldn’t get in starting line up ahead of mason and Keane tbh

I’d take him for 25m no more.

Defo! A good player.

I’d take him back no question. Had a great partnership with Keane, lots of league experience, seemed to enjoy his time with us. #FREEZOUMA

Would love this to be true but doubt we have the money and therefore much more likely to go for a loan, which if it happens would still be a good move

We could have got Gabriel for that price
