Everton fans react as Fabian Delph reportedly misses training

Everton’s Fabian Delph was reportedly forced to miss training on Tuesday – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are frustrated by the news.

The Liverpool Echo reports that the midfielder had to miss Tuesday’s training session and he’s also expected to be on the sidelines on Wednesday.

It is understood that the Toffees have not given up hope though of the 29-year-old being fit for the trip to Southampton on Saturday.

The report explains that it looked like he had a hamstring problem at the end of the 1-1 draw against Tottenham at the weekend, but there is no confirmation on his potential injury.

Delph has been an impressive addition at Goodison Park this season from Manchester City and his a combative enforcer in the central midfield area.

With Andre Gomes facing a spell on the sidelines following his dreadful injury, it’s important that Everton don’t lose another influential figure from the midfield.

Everton go into the weekend just three points above 18th-placed Southampton and a defeat to them would leave people genuinely fearing a relegation scrap this season.

A selection of Everton supporters on social media are fearful about Delph missing training and believe it’s vital he’s passed fit to face Southampton.

The Merseyside club had to seal with the Gomes incident against Spurs and have had a number of other injury setbacks throughout the season.
