Everton fans were not impressed as reported manager target Eddie Howe had a nightmare on Tuesday evening.
Various reports, including this one by The Mirror, suggest that Howe is one of the frontrunners for the Everton job. Marco Silva could lose his job as Everton are hovering just above the relegation zone ahead of the midweek derby with Liverpool.
But Howe has shown his weaknesses this season. Bournemouth’s form is atrocious and the south coast club plunged to a new low in Tuesday night’s clash with Crystal Palace.
At Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace went down to 10 men early on when Mamadou Sakho was shown a red card. Up against 10 men for 70 minutes, Bournemouth drew a blank and couldn’t score.
Moreover, Palace went and snatched a winner. Jeffrey Schlupp’s solo goal was a rare moment of class and it earned Palace three points. Howe was powerless to prevent yet another defeat for the Cherries.
Everton fans have been discussing Howe after the 1-0 loss in South London. Here are some tweets about him.
Tonight surely silences the Eddie Howe rumours. #EFC

For all the hype over Sean Dyche & Eddie Howe & the faction of fans that want one of them to replace Silva, I see zero from Burnley or Bournemouth to suggest we would be significantly better off – long term – with either one of them. #EFC #EvertonFC #toffees #COYB #LIVEEVE pic.twitter.com/Qs61oCZMvX

Another defeat for Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth – that’s now 286 goals conceded and just 51 wins in five Premier League seasons.
Out of the ever-presents since their promotion: no team has won less games & no team has conceded more. Jesus. https://t.co/UnHZSWFoYe
