Djibril Sidibe has stated that he is very keen to complete a permanent move to Everton with The Toffees boasting an option worth £13million to sign the Frenchman permanently – and Toffees fans have reacted to his comments on Twitter.

Sidibe, 27, has impressed at times for Everton this season during his 24 appearances in all competitions since moving to Merseyside on loan from AS Monaco. He was signed, after Jonjoe Kenny moved to the German Bundesliga with Schalke.

He has told RMC Sport that he is keen for a move: “For my part, all the lights are green, the coach [Carlo Ancelotti] appreciates me, he trusts me. I had a discussion with the leaders of Monaco, they know my position and I know theirs.”

The Mail claim Everton have a £13million clause to make the loan deal a permanent one, but Ancelotti and Marcel Brands must take into account Sunday’s performance against Chelsea – which saw Sidibe struggle with his positioning.

The duo must also consider Everton’s other right-back options. Kenny is shining in Germany and could well return to Goodison Park having developed enormously. Seamus Coleman, Mason Holgate and Cuco Martina all remain at Goodison Park.

Everton supporters have reacted to his comments on Twitter, with Sidibe seemingly interested in becoming a full-time Toffee.

However, the comments may be considered pretty poor timing given his display on Sunday, and many Everton fans are against him signing a permanent contract. One fan asked “where’s a red light when you need one”.
