Everton fans are still waiting for a timescale on Andre Gomes’ injury. There was an update issued on Everton’s official Twitter page yesterday but fans were not happy with the lack of information.
Gomes suffered an injury in the first half against Crystal Palace on the opening day of the season. He was replaced by Jean-Philippe Gbamin but this change halted Everton’s momentum.
Who can replace Gomes in Everton’s midfield?
Without Gomes, Everton could struggle in the coming weeks. The Portuguese midfielder keeps things ticking over in the middle. And after Idrissa Gueye departed, Everton’s options in central midfield are depleted.
Morgan Schneiderlin picked up a red card against Crystal Palace, too. With Gbamin admitting he is not fully fit, Everton fans are praying that Gomes’ injury is not as serious as initially feared.
The official update reads: “Andre Gomes has undergone a scan on the ankle injury he sustained at Crystal Palace on Saturday. The midfielder was forced off just before half-time during the 0-0 draw at Selhurst Park. He will continue to be assessed by medical staff at USM Finch Farm.”
Here are some replies from Everton fans after the club kept them in the dark over the length of Gomes’ injury.
WE KNOW THAT JUST TELL US HOW LONG

Worst update ever, gives us no information about how long he’ll be out for?

That is literally the most pointless injury update I’ve ever seen as there is no update about his injury.

This tweet could literally be saying Andre Gomes is out for the season. Or Andre Gomes is out for 2 days.....
