Everton fans react as club confirms Andre Gomes has signed for them permanently

After a protracted period of negotiation, Everton have confirmed the signing of Andre Gomes from Barcelona on the club’s official website.

The Portuguese midfielder spent last season on loan at Goodison Park and won the hearts of the Toffees fans, who were desperate to see him return on a permanent basis.

Gomes said: “I know the club made a massive effort to sign me and I’m very happy and thankful to them. I said during the year that I felt part of a family and that is the most important thing to me.

“Last year was a really good experience for me. I just wanted to feel part of something special and I found it here. It was good for me in that moment and right now, after signing for Everton, it’s even better.”

When Everton confirmed the news on their official Twitter account, loads of Toffees fans were absolutely buzzing in response.

They cannot wait to see Gomes back in blue and his arrival is a major signal of the club’s intent moving into the new season as they look to reach the European places…
