Cenk Tosun got himself on the score sheet on Wednesday night as he captained Turkey to a 3-3 draw with Croatia in an international friendly – and Everton supporters have discussed the striker on Twitter after his excellent display.
German-born Tosun, 29, starred for Turkey as he earned his first international cap since October 2019. Returning to fitness, he is also back on the fringes of Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton team after a difficult spell on Merseyside.
Joining the club for a huge £27million (Telegraph) in January 2018, Tosun has managed to score just 10 goals for the Blues in 53 outings. He has also been on loan at Crystal Palace, where he scored once in five games.

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin in stunning form for the Toffees, Tosun looks unlikely to break into the Everton side but following his return from injury – he has made substitute appearances in Everton’s last two league games.
He continued his return to form on Wednesday night, as he captained Turkey against Croatia. The striker earned a penalty after a clumsy tackle by Domagoj Vida – his former Besiktas teammate – and got up to score the spot kick.
An excellent match for the neutral, the two sides played out an enthralling 3-3 draw at Besiktas’ Vodafone Park. Everton fans reacted on Twitter to his performance, with many full of praise – while others discussed his future.
