Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Everton will continue to be without James Rodriguez for this weekend’s clash with Burnley.

The Toffees playmaker has been missing for the last three Premier League matches and Ancelotti has confirmed his absence for tomorrow.

It’s a blow for Everton in their pursuit of a European place, with the club currently sat in sixth place with a game in hand on fourth.

Rodriguez has been a revelation since checking in during the summer, scoring five goals and registering eight assists.

The 28-year-old checked in from Real Madrid to become a marquee signing at Goodison Park.

Rodriguez’s arrival highlighted the significant pulling power that the club has with Ancelotti in the hot seat.

The injury is related to his calf and the boss is keen not to rush one of his main men back into the fold.
