Former Fulham and Arsenal midfielder Luis Boa Morte is the new assistant manager of Everton, according to the club’s official website.
They report that Boa Morte will link up with fellow Portuguese Marco Silva during the 2019/20, having been at Sporting Lisbon at the same time as each other in 2014/15.
Boa Morte said: “I’m very happy to be joining Everton, a big club with so much history and tradition. I’m excited to be working again with Marco Silva, who is a great coach. I would like to thank him for providing me with such a big opportunity.
“I’m looking forward to meeting all the players and staff at the Club when we return for pre-season training next month and start the preparations for the 2019/20 Premier League season.”

After the club’s official Twitter account posted the news online, many Everton fans were quick to respond to the tweet.
Some fans want transfer news on the pitch, not reports of a new recruit off the pitch. Others were unimpressed with the calibre of the coach or because of his playing career – and some did just wish Boa Morte a warm welcome.
We’ve put it all together as the Toffees await their first signing of the summer but now have a new assistant manager…
