A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports this week claiming that Arsenal want Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The Frenchman’s contract expires at the end of the season. And Arsenal are putting together a list of potential replacements.

The Sun reports that Ollie Watkins is on the radar. But Arsenal are also interested in Calvert-Lewin.

The report claims that the 24-year-old will cost upwards of £50 million. But of course, it is hard to imagine the Toffees considering accepting anything anywhere near £50 million.

The England international has been Everton’s talisman for some time. He has scored 29 Premier League goals across the last two full seasons.

And he already has three for the current campaign in the top-flight.

Plenty of Arsenal fans expressed their delight about the links with Calvert-Lewin. But it appears that few Everton supporters are worried about the prospect of the forward moving away from Goodison Park.

Rafa Benitez’s men are sat fifth in the table. Arsenal meanwhile, are still bouncing back from a very difficult start to the season.

So the fans cannot understand why he would move to the Emirates.

Several have insisted that it would be a backwards move. And they cannot see Arsenal going near whatever the club’s asking price is.
