Everton fans rave about Thierry Small’s performance during under-23 win

Everton under-23s defeated Leicester City 4-2 and for Thierry Small, the game capped a remarkable 24 hours.

The youngster made his first-team debut coming on as a second-half substitute in a 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup.

Last night he scored for the under-23 ranks as they produced a lethal display of finishing to oust the Foxes.

Small is only 16-years-old and has been playing regularly for the club’s under-18 ranks this season.

The teenager is capable of playing as a left-back or in a more advanced role on the left-hand side.

Last night was his second goal in five appearances for the under-23s and David Unsworth will be delighted with his progress.

Everton have a proud history with their academy prospects and supporters are excited to see how Small develops.

There is, of course, a lot of work to do for the left-back and at 16, time is certainly on his side.

Small has plenty of pace, is good at both ends of the pitch and looks comfortable in possession.

After last night’s strong goalscoring performance, supporters took to Twitter to rave about the talent.

Here is what Everton fans were saying about the teenager during last night’s under-23 clash.
