Everton needed extra time to beat Championship side Rotherham United in an FA Cup third round tie on Saturday afternoon – but some of the club’s fans on Twitter picked out their youngster Niels Nkounkou as a real positive from the result.
The Toffees secured a 2-1 victory at Goodison Park against Rotherham, who are sat 23rd in the Championship table.
Rarely used striker Cenk Tosun opened the scoring in the 9th minute for the Merseyside club with a chipped effort, but a goal from Matthew Olosunde for the visitors in the second-half sent the contest to extra time.
Abdoulaye Doucoure was the match-winner for Carlo Ancelotti’s side though with a composed one-on-one finish against the goalkeeper.

It was a match that Everton made hard work of despite naming a strong XI, but some supporters on social media were excited by the cameo performance of Nkounkou.
The 20-year-old was substituted on early into the extra time period and he caught the eye.
He is a left-sided speed machine that can play full-back or as a winger and he added some directness while on the pitch for the hosts.
It was just his fifth senior appearance of the season and he’ll be hoping he can start earning more minutes under Ancelotti, as he looks an exciting prospect that is sharp going forward.
