Duncan Ferguson’s appointment as stand-in Everton boss looks to have brought the best out of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Ferguson picked up another eye-catching result for the Toffees, leading his side to a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford and Calvert-Lewin was instrumental.
Everton’s gameplan centred around getting the ball forward quickly into Calvert-Lewin and strike partner Richarlison, who United couldn’t contain.
Calvert-Lewin was a constant threat all afternoon and looks reinvigorated under Ferguson, who himself caused United all manner of problems during his own playing days.

Maybe he passed some of that wisdom onto Calvert-Lewin because it was a performance many Evertonians on Twitter were full of praise for after the game.
United snatched a 1-1 draw thanks to Mason Greenwood’s second half strike but that didn’t dampen the enthusiasm for the team display or that of Calvert-Lewin.
He has had his critics at times but worked exceptionally hard at the Theatre of Dreams and deserved all the praise he got online.
It remains to be seen how long Ferguson has the job for but Calvert-Lewin needs to set his sights on maintaining this level of performance regardless.
