Everton have a youngster heading to the Under-20 World Cup in Poland. Korede Adedoyin is on his way to join up with the young Flying Eagles side.

Futaa reports that Nigeria made the decision after struggling for goals from their current strikers in warm-up games.

They even suggest he might be working with former Everton striker Yakubu, who is putting the young strikers through their paces. The talented forward has been at Everton since the age of 10 and was born in Nigeria, although is also eligible for England.

It is a big honour for the teenager and Everton fans would be right to keep an eye on how gets on in Poland. Nigeria are in a group with Qatar, Ukraine and the United States and will have hopes of going far in the competition, which England won two years ago.

The 18-year-old has been in fine form for Everton’s under-18s this season. He has scored 13 goals in 21 games and looks like being a top talent going forward for the Toffees.

Looking at some of the names that have thrived at the under-20 tournament in the past should give Everton hopes of a similar impact. The likes of Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero, and Paul Pogba have all made their names at the competition. Everton will hope Adedoyin follows in those footsteps.
