Yerry Mina was finally given his full competitive Everton debut when the Merseysiders travelled to face unbeaten Chelsea yesterday afternoon.
The Colombian’s move to Goodison Park generated much excitement but the Toffees’ fans have been forced to wait to see their new towering centre-half because of an injury he carried over from the summer.
But with Kurt Zouma ineligible to play against his parent club, Mina was thrown in as Everton looked to become the first side to stop the Blues scoring this season.
And they did exactly that; Mina was excellent alongside Michael Keane and showed no signs to rustiness as Marco Silva’s side managed to keep Eden Hazard and co quiet at Stamford Bridge.

He was awarded by being named man of the match; not bad for a player who has been so short on football as he looks to adapt to a new country and style of football.
The Everton fans loved what they saw from their new recruit as he lived up to their hopes and expectations straight off the bat and we’ve taken a look at the best of the reaction…
