Leicester produced a superb defensive display to keep Liverpool at bay on Tuesday night, beating Jurgen Klopp’s side 1-0. Ademola Lookman scored the only goal of the game – and Everton fans have applauded the attacker.
Coming into Tuesday night’s match, Leicester were expected to suffer a heavy defeat to Liverpool. Numerous positive tests, and defensive injuries, left Brendan Rodgers with a somewhat makeshift side at the King Power.
Wilfried Ndidi continued at centre-back alongside Daniel Amartey – with Caglar Soyuncu, Jonny Evans and Wesley Fofana all missing. Timothy Castagne and Luke Thomas at full-back, Ricardo Pereira and James Justin missing.
With Ndidi deployed in defence, Leicester boasted a three-man midfield with a combined age of less than 70 – in Hamza Choudhury, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Boubakary Soumare. The match winner, started on the bench.
What are Everton fans saying as Lookman shines against Liverpool?
Lookman started a move on the halfway line, finding Dewsbury-Hall on the left flank – who returned the favour, Lookman squeezing an effort past Alisson. It is his third Premier League goal in his last five outings.
The England Under-21 star was excellent for Fulham on loan last season, and is now sparkling at Leicester. It comes after being ostracised at Everton, having only scored four goals in 48 appearances for the Toffees.
Everton fans, though, feel as if they let one go in Lookman – who scored on his debut for the Merseyside outfit against Manchester City. Many applauded the Leicester star, for his goal against Liverpool.
