Everton fans impressed by QPR star during Cup defeat
Everton were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Championship side QPR on Tuesday night – and Toffees fans were impressed by Ilias Chair.
The Toffees travelled south to take on Championship side QPR, who have made an excellent start to life in England’s second tier this season.
Mark Warburton’s men are expected to be in bottom half, but a blend of young talent mixed with experienced players is helping QPR go forward.
After eight matches, they sit in eighth place and are likely to be right in the mix when it comes to a fight for the play-offs next term. Chair is crucial.
The 23-year-old Morocco international started the game in the 10 role and got an assist for the first of Charlie Austin’s brace. The game finished 2-2.
Indeed, Austin and QPR were pegged back twice having gone in front – with Lucas Digne and Andros Townsend netting for the Merseyside outfit.
Eventually, the game went to penalties and QPR won – winning 8-7 during the spot-kicks. A brilliant game, with Chair shining more than most.
What are Everton fans saying about QPR star Chair, after Tuesday?
Everton have numerous attacking players that can interchange. Richarlison, Demarai Gray and more. But James Rodriguez is set to leave the club.
Bernard left, too. Everton need an attacking midfielder and many were impressed by Chair on Tuesday night. He has started the season superbly.
Clocking up nine appearances, Chair has five goal involvements – one goal, but four assists. He has 15 goals and 18 assists in 116 QPR games.
But his best form is coming to the fore this term – and Everton suffered because of it. Many Everton fans were impressed on Twitter.
