Everton fans have one fear as Dominic Calvert-Lewin nears Leeds United transfer, ‘going to be horrible’

Everton take on Leeds United to open the Premier League season, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin could make a fascinating move.

The Premier League season is now just around the corner, with Everton looking to kick on under David Moyes.

Moyes made a big impact after replacing Sean Dyche, and Everton fans are looking for more progress this season.

Jack Grealish joined Everton this week and could be in contention to make his debut against Leeds United on Sunday.

Grealish won’t be fully match-ready just yet, but he may still be involved – and the same may go for former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Everton fans on Dominic Calvert-Lewin to Leeds United

Calvert-Lewin left Everton at the end of last season, as his contract at Goodison Park came to an end.

Newcastle spoke to Calvert-Lewin about a potential move to St James’ Park, while Manchester United were linked with the former England striker.

Leeds United are now set to sign Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer, luring the Sheffield-born forward back to Yorkshire.

Calvert-Lewin could play for Leeds against Everton, even if only from the bench, having missed pre-season.

That prospect has left some Everton fans worried, with a real belief – or even a fear – that Calvert-Lewin is bound to score against the Toffees.

Everton fans have taken to social media to suggest that Calvert-Lewin scoring against the Toffees is ‘nailed on’, even predicting a Jack Harrison assist.

Some are wishing Calvert-Lewin all the best at Leeds, at least once Monday’s game is out of the way, even hoping that he doesn’t actually feature at Elland Road.

Daniel Farke faces Dominic Calvert-Lewin decision

Leeds have been desperately seeking a new striker signing, and have now added a proven Premier League forward in Calvert-Lewin.

Whites boss Daniel Farke must now decide whether to bring Calvert-Lewin in against Everton.

Joel Piroe is surely the choice to start up front, but there will be a real temptation to throw Calvert-Lewin on from the bench, even with a lack of match sharpness.

Farke will be mindful of Calvert-Lewin’s fitness situation, but his sheer presence could unsettle Everton late on and make an impact for Leeds in their Premier League opener.
