Everton recorded an emphatic 5-2 win over West Brom on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter hailed summer signing James Rodriguez for his performance.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side made it two wins from two to temporally move top of the table and flexed their attacking muscles at Goodison Park.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored a hat-trick for the Merseyside club, while Michael Keane and Rodriguez were also on the scoresheet.
The Toffees lead 2-1 at half-time after coming from behind to cancel out Grady Diangana’s goal, but the game turned on its head when Kieran Gibbs was shown a straight red card in injury time of the first-half.
Matheus Pereira levelled early in the second-half, but Everton took control afterwards and showed they are taking giant strides forward as a side.
Everton’s early success this season is largely down to their transfer signings, with Rodriguez certainly the standout.
The 29-year-old attacker joined from Real Madrid this summer and was once again highly influential against West Brom.
He operated from the right flank, but scored a brilliant left-footed shot from outside the box after drifting inside and his corner also assisted Calvert-Lewin’s hat-trick goal.

A selection of Everton supporters on social media picked out Rodriguez as central to the team’s latest win and believe he’s a special talent.
Here are some Toffees fans discussing Rodriguez:
