Everton defender Jonjoe Kenny will officially spend the 2019/20 season on loan at Schalke.
The England U21 international will follow in the footsteps of Ademola Lookman to the Bundesliga, who turned out for RB Leipzig in 2018.

Kenny now has the opportunity to get regular game time, having failed to dislodge Seamus Coleman from the Toffees’ starting XI last term.
Marco Silva handed him 14 appearances, and there was always a suggestion that this summer could see him head elsewhere in search of regular game time.
Kenny said of his move (quoted by The Liverpool Echo, 10/6 15:35): “It is a big chance for me, to come to a new country and show off my abilities, especially at a big club like Schalke.
“Schalke 04 is a club with a long history and fantastic fans. I am happy to be here and can’t wait to get up and running with the team.”

Kenny will join up with David Wagner and his new teammates once he finishes up with England’s Young Lions at the U21 European Championships.
Everton fans react
Lots of Everton fans were pleased to hear of Kenny’s switch to the Bundesliga.
The German top-flight has helped a number of budding English youngsters recently such as Jadon Sancho, Reiss Nelson and of course, the club’s own Ademola Lookman.
