Everton fans enjoyed Schneiderlin’s return in comfortable victory over Cardiff

Everton got the result they needed to get themselves back on track with a comfortable 3-0 win over struggling Cardiff City last night.

With the Merseyside derby against their bitter rivals Liverpool looming on Sunday, Marco Silva’s side geared up in the perfect way thanks to two goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson and a late strike from Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The game also saw former Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin make his return to the Toffees side, having not featured since the December thumping at the hands of Tottenham.

He has also had some personal problems this season but remains a Premier League standard holding midfielder at his best, and showed last night that he can still make a contribution to this Everton team.

The supporters responded well to his performance on a night where everything seemed to go right for the Toffees and want to see more from the Frenchman in the closing months of the season.

They were full of encouragement for Schneiderlin and see a way back into Silva’s first team plans if he can keep this form up.
