Everton fans don’t want to sign defensive target Fikayo Tomori

Everton are reportedly interested in a potential swoop for Chelsea defender Fiakyo Tomori – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have responded by stating they don’t want him.

According to Sky Sports, the Toffees are considering a move for the 21-year-old as an alternative to his Chelsea teammate Kurt Zouma.

It is understood that a deal to re-sign Zouma is stalling, so the Merseyside club may turn attention to Tomori.

Zouma was a big hit at Goodison Park last season during his loan from Chelsea, but is now training with Frank Lampard’s squad and looks set to be competing for a first-team spot at Stamford Bridge next season.

Tomori also spent the 2018/19 campaign out on loan and was Derby County’s player of the season in the Championship.

He is a young centre-back that has tremendous pace and athleticism, while he can pick a pass too.

The England Under-21 internatonal is expected to have a crack at top-flight football this campaign, but the competition to break into the Chelsea defence is fierce.

A selection of Everton supporters on social media are frustrated about links to Tomori, with Zouma the player they really want after his performances last season.

Toffees boss Marco Silva could do with adding a centre-back before the transfer window closes and may have to make do with a younger version of Zouma.
