Everton are being linked with a late move for Bournemouth attacker Josh King.
talkSPORT have claimed the Toffees could scupper West Ham United’s move for the Norway international, who looks highly likely to leave the south coast club before the October 16 domestic transfer deadline.
King’s contract with the Cherries expires next summer, and he is available for a cut-price fee.
West Ham are understood to have seen a £13 million bid rejected (Sky Sports), with Bournemouth wanting around £18 million.
talkSPORT say Everton could swoop for King after letting Moise Kean join Paris Saint-Germain on loan.
At the moment, Carlo Ancelotti has the red-hot Dominic Calvert-Lewin at his disposal, Richarlison who can play through the middle and Cenk Tosun, who is yet to make an appearance under the Italian.
There is arguably need for one more attacker and King is proven at Premier League level and versatile.
The star has scored 48 goals in 161 top-flight appearances and set up 15.
Having watched Nathan Ake, Ryan Fraser and Callum Wilson all leave the Vitality Stadium, it would be very surprising to see him stay put.
Everton fans gave a largely positive reaction to the notion of King joining their club on social media:
He scores in the prem.
16 in 36 was his best, bench player that isn’t a bad shout.
Would we find another striker (right now) who has better that is happy to be a sub?

Why not ..he’s a proven scorer in the prem ..but 15m tops ..decent bench warmer and squad player if required

No. Richy will be in his way in a year unless we’re in the CL. Either way, more money at that point will buy a top top striker to go alongside DCL.

If Carlo thinks we need another winger/forward then he is probably the best we can sign at the moment. Also depends on price.

Loan or knockdown fee yes, anything else no.
While he might help us out short term I’d worry that in 18 months time he would be surplus and we would struggle to move him on.

Yes defo. Quality player. If DCL and Richy get injured we’ve got no cover
