There is plenty of talk surrounding the Everton manager’s job at present. Marco Silva is in serious danger of losing the job and fans at Goodison Park are starting to believe it would be best for all parties if the Portuguese left.
One major issue is the lack of serious candidates currently available to Everton if they do decide to give Silva the shove.
The likes of David Moyes and Mark Hughes have been mentioned, but many Everton fans have also been discussing the possibility of bringing in a former player for his first management role.
The player in question is Mikel Arteta.

The 37-year-old Spaniard spent six very successful years at Everton and remains an extremely popular figure among the Goodison Park faithful.
On top of that, he is a young and exciting coach who has been working under the guidance of one of the greatest ever as assistant to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
However, plenty of other fans have valid concerns over his potential appointment.
Arteta has no formal management experience and it would be a huge gamble for Everton to give him a chance under their current circumstances.
Here is how some Everton fans have been discussing the possibility of Arteta taking over at Goodison Park.
