Everton fans discuss Andre Gomes display after comfortable win over Sheff Wed
Everton cruised to a 3-0 win over Championship side Sheffield Wednesday in the fourth round of the FA Cup at Goodison Park – and many Toffees fans have praised Andre Gomes and his performance on Sunday evening.
The Toffees came into the match against a struggling Wednesday side, who are already on their third manager of the season. The prize, a home clash in the fifth round of the competition against either Tottenham or Wycombe.
Everton dominated from start to finish, but it was midfielder Gomes that created the opener. The 29-time Portugal international has been in and out of the side this season, starting only seven of his previous 14 games.

But he started on Sunday and impressed. His run to the byline from midfield saw him produce an inch-perfect left-footed cross from Dom Calvert-Lewin to slide home. The £112,000-a-week (Spotrac) star lasted the 90 minutes.
Everton made it two and three in the second half, with both goals pretty similar. The first saw James Rodriguez curl an inswinging corner into Richarlison who flicked home – before Yerry Mina did the same minutes later.
Everton supporters reacted on Twitter to Gomes’ performance for the Merseyside club and many were delighted to see him finally show the kind of form they know he is capable of.
Is it too early for me to admit I’m in the Andre Gomes fan club again?
