Everton took on Watford this evening in the EFL Cup and came away with a win courtesy of Mason Holgate’s second-half header and Richarlison’s late second. The result puts the Toffees into the quarter-finals of the competition and fans will be hoping that Everton can finally end their silverware drought.
However, despite tonight’s success, Everton fans are not impressed by Marco Silva’s treatment of one player.
Moise Kean’s selection in the starting XI certainly had plenty of Everton fans excited until they figured the position in which Silva was asking the Italian to play.
Kean, a central striker, was asked to operate in a wide right role and it was not a true reflection of his talents in the role.
The youngster tried his best to influence the game but struggled to have any impact.
At half-time, he was off, and Kean continues to struggle under the management of Silva. Theo Walcott came on and, in fairness, had a good game for Everton – supplying the cross for Holgate’s opener. However, many felt Kean was hung out to dry by the decision to start him out of position in the first place.
Kean, who arrived in a deal reported by The Independent to be in the region of £27.5 million from Juventus, has not yet been utilised affectively by the Everton boss.
Some fans, it seems, are furious that this is the case.

Walcott excellent again, despite all the moaners at half time. Not that I’d have taken Kean off.

What is the point in playing Kean at all if you are going to play him out of position and drag him off at half time

Kean gone from sitting on the bench at Juventus due to Ronaldo, Dyabla, Mandzukic to struggling to get a game up front due to Calvert Lewin. Heads Gone!!!?? #efc

Really disappointed that’s Kean’s allowance for tonight… played out of position then hauled off?

The way Silva has managed Moise Kean this season should be a sackable offence in itself. He needs to go regardless of the result tonight

God Moise Kean must feel so low right now. Lobbed out on the right wing while DCL up front and subbed at half time. He swapped @juventusfcen for this ??♂️. He won’t be here past end of season, prob loaned out in January. Sack this fraud Silva immediately!!! #SilvaOut #Everton

Moise Kean was generally getting more game time at Juventus than at Everton, hopefully this is Silva’s last game

Just absolutely ridiculous to sub off Kean at half pathetic

Everton have history of absolutely ruining players. But Moise Kean must be some sort of record.

Why does Silva hate Kean so much what was the point in playing him for 45mins but in the wrong position
— Chris (@Cookie_EFC) October 29, 2019
Silva has hung Moise Kean out to dry. Disgraceful way to treat a young player #efc
— Marco Silva status: On thin ice. (@BlueDanEFC) October 29, 2019
That substitution is criminal. Silva is clueless. Kean going the way of Lookman. #efc
