Henry Onyekuru is officially no longer an Everton player after he joined French side AS Monaco.
The forward has left Goodison Park after two years with the club, although he never actually played for the first-team due to work permit issues.
Onyekuru was sent out on loan twice – to Anderlecht and Galatasaray – but now leaves Everton in a reported £12 million deal (Daily Mail).
The Nigerian will now be hoping to truly kickstart his career with Monaco over in Ligue 1.
The 22-year-old scored 16 goals in 44 appearances for Galatasaray last term, and will be hoping to continue that goalscoring form at Stade Louis II.
Unfortunately he just couldn’t show the level required to land himself a work permit to allow him to play in the Premier League.
Everton fans react
Many Everton fans wished Onyekuru well for the next stage of his career, with many providing tongue-in-cheek responses about his ‘amazing’ time at the club:
Everton legend. Never forget some of the classic matches he’s played in

At last Everton learned how to cut our losses. More of that please. Sorry we didn’t see anything of #Onyekuru but given the current regime / Brexit & the requirements, it was always going to be unlikely.
